Retrofit Systems – “Navigating the complexity”

Retrofit is inherently complex, involving diverse stakeholders, systems, and solutions. This session embraces that complexity, featuring insights from academics (e.g., UCL) and practitioners to explore how collaborative, place-based responses can address local needs while meeting broader retrofit objectives.
Green Finance Innovation – “When innovation becomes the norm”

This session explores the role of financial innovation in driving the retrofit agenda, with a spotlight on transformative projects. Speakers will discuss how innovative financial models, such as the credit union approach in Ireland, are breaking down barriers to retrofitting and enabling scalable, sustainable solutions.
Community Led Retrofit – “Redefining retrofit at scale”

This session challenges the perception that community-led retrofit is small-scale and low-impact by showcasing the power and potential of grassroots initiatives. By focusing on diversity, place-based solutions, and breaking free from one-size-fits-all, top-down approaches, we will explore how these efforts can redefine scalability in retrofit practices.
Sharing Results of the Regional Skills Pilot

The National Retrofit Hub and the five regional Net Zero Hubs hosted a webinar on 20th March to disseminate the results of the regional retrofit skills pilots, funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero last year. The webinar includes presentations by each of the hub and consolidates learnings from each hub, to set out what place-based skills delivery should look like, and what factors are critical for success.
