Selective Licensing
Selective Licensing is a scheme Local Authorities in England can choose to implement to help ensure that homes in the Private Rended Sector (PRS) meet minimum standards. Introduced by the Housing Act 2004, a Local Authority can designate all or part of its area as being subject to selective licensing.
Justice for Tenants – Housing Act Enforcement
Justice for Tenants have contracts in place with 135 Local Authorities to support their Housing Act (HHSRS) enforcement activity through the effective use of civil financial penalties.
ACE-R – Support for Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards Enforcement
ACE-R, with support from the MCS Foundation in 2023, supported Local Authority officers and landlords with training and guidance on Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) regulations, energy efficiency measures and low carbon heating options.
